W/C 13th July

Hi Tigers and Monkeys, it is our last week of learning together before you go into big school as Year Ones! We can’t wait to see you in September, we think you will have grown so much as we haven’t seen you for so long.

So let’s get learning, here are your last Tiger and Monkey challenges.

We are going to continue to follow the phonics videos. see the link below on how to access these sessions!

Don't forget you can access some of our favourite phonics songs!

Monday
We know that your new teachers will be looking forward to welcoming you back to Hilltop Academy in September so to help them recognise you we would like you to do a drawing of yourself, don’t forget to use your best handwriting to write your full name on your picture.

Tuesday
Today we would like you to label your picture from yesterday with what you look like and all of the great things that you are good at such as:
·       Football
·       Dancing
·       Writing
·       Reading
·       Singing
·       Any other talent you have.

Wednesday

Now that you have done your drawing and labelled it, use three of your labels and write a sentence about each, telling us about your talent such as where you do it, who you like to do it with and anything else interesting about what you are good at. Don’t forget to use a capital letter at the beginning of each sentence, a full stop at the end and remember those finger spaces.

Thursday

Today we would like you to write three sentences all about you that you think your new teacher would like to know about you. Don’t forget to use a capital letter at the beginning of each sentence, a full stop at the end and remember those finger spaces. Your sentences can be about anything such as any worries about returning to school, or what you are looking forward to, or who you are looking forward to playing with. PLease ask your adults to send your lovely drawing and sentences to us so we can pass them on to your new teachers.

Fun Friday
This is our last fun Friday in Tigers and Monkeys before you become big Y1's! So we would like you to make up an end of year dance to your favourite music. Or you could show us how musical you are by making up your own tune with either an instrument or something you can make noise with from around the house or even body percussion. We are looking forward to seeing some crazy dance moves and music so get creative. Don’t forget to take videos or photos to send in to us to cheer us all up seeing your happy smiley faces.

Dance and Music Festival

Hill Top needs your help!

Monday the 13th of July marks the beginning of our Trust Dance and Music Festival.

We know how talented you all are and we want to share that!

This will be our last week of Summer term and what better way to lift spirits than a good song and dance!

You can film yourself singing, dancing or playing a musical instrument at home.
Then please email it to your year group email address.

Look out for your videos on Facebook throughout the week, so we can showcase all of our pupils' talents!

Monday
This week we are going to look at things that keep us healthy, so to start our Healthy bodies topic we would like you and your adults to read this story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar:

Now can you tell your adult which foods did the caterpillar eat that are healthy and which foods are unhealthy?

Tuesday
Now that you have read The Very Hungry Caterpillar, you know the life cycle of a butterfly. Using a piece of plain paper put the title Life cycle of a butterfly and underneath draw all the stages from the egg to the butterfly. You can make your picture as colourful as you like, get creative!

Wednesday
Today is the day to hunt in the kitchen cupboards (with your adult’s permission). Make two piles, one with all of the healthy food you have found and one with all the unhealthy foods you have found. Which is the biggest pile? Which pile would you like to eat the most?

Challenge
Can you design a healthy meal from what you have found?

Thursday
Today we would like you to draw and label all of the healthy foods that you like to eat. If you are not sure if they are healthy you can ask your adult or ask them to help you research them on the internet.

Challenge
Using your food list can you draw a plate of healthy food that you would like to eat for a meal. ( Maybe you could even help your adult to make this meal over the next few days and send us a picture to our email:

reception@hilltop.doncaster.sch.uk

Fun Friday!
Let’s get creative again today. Can you make your own Very Hungry Caterpillar? There are lots of different ways you can do this with whatever you have in your home. You could paint a picture using a brush or even your hands:

You could make an egg box caterpillar:
Or even a puppet:
Why not get creative with healthy foods?
Whatever you do have fun and be healthy!
